How to replace/reset PIR-100

Replacing

To replace a PIR-100- into a particular network, you must first ensure the Evolve Device Replacement Tool software is registering as “Ready to Replace Device.”  This can only happen after a room number and specific device type has been selected for replacement.  Please refer to Replacement Tool Overview for further detail on using this software.

The front plastic enclosure/lens must first be removed to access the PCB.  To do so, turn the front plastic enclosure/lens counter clockwise.  After ensuring the device has battery power, double tap the small white PCB button.  This button is located on the upper PCB, it is NOT the large silver “tamper” switch. 
 
A successful enrollment into an Evolve network will be registered by the replacement tool software, and “Device Replacement Successfully” will appear on the screen.  If after multiple attempts the device has not enrolled within the intended network, cancel the software’s replacement attempt, and try resetting the device.  See Resetting below.

Resetting

To reset a device, you must first ensure the Evolve Device Replacement Tool software is registering as “Ready to Reset Node.”  Select “Reset Node” in the software to initiate this command.  A reset node command is not room or device specific.
 
After powering the device, quickly double tap the small white PCB button.   
 
A successful reset of a device will be registered by the replacement tool software, and the “Ready to Reset Node” screen will disappear.
