How to wire TB-200 & RPTAC-5

Between the RPTAC-5 and the HVAC Unit

The device uses standard 24VAC thermostat connections: The use of each of these terminals varies by application. The most common applications are outlined below; for those not found on this list, please contact Evolve Technical Support for more detail.

Fan Coil:
 
  • 24COM = common
  • 24RC/24RH = 24VAC – either terminal may be used, as there is in an internal jumper on the circuit board connecting the two.
  • W1 = heating
  • W2 = only used in a 3 speed system, this terminal represents MEDIUM fan
  • Y1 = cooling
  • Y2 = only used in a 2 or 3 speed system, this terminal represents HIGH fan
  • G = LOW fan. Note: in a 1 speed system, the G terminal is the default “only” fan terminal used

Heat Pump:
 
  • 24COM = common
  • 24RC/24RH = 24VAC - either terminal may be used, as there is in an internal jumper on the circuit board connecting the two.
  • W1 = auxiliary electric heat, if applicable
  • W2 = change-over (reversing) valve. This terminal is typically wired to the “B” or “O” terminal on the HVAC unit. Note, by default this terminal is energized in cooling, but can be configured to engage in heating instead.
  • Y1 = compressor, used for both heating AND cooling
  • Y2 = Represents HIGH fan, if applicable. Note: in order to set a 2-speed heat pump setting, the system type must be set to “Heat Pump B”.
  • G = LOW fan. Note: in a 1 speed system, the G terminal is the default “only” fan terminal used

No wiring needed. All communication is done via RF.
