As a user of the Bulk Actions section of Insight, you can save yourself quite a bit of time by performing the following actions for multiple rooms concurrently:
Enable Setbacks: this setting gives the guest full control over their guest room thermostat while they are in their room, but once the room is unoccupied, the thermostat will automatically adjust to a deeper setback temperature to conserve energy.
Disable Setbacks: this setting gives the guest full control over their guest room thermostat while they are in the room (or not) by temporarily disabling your property's automatic setback temperatures. When you disable setbacks for a guest room, the thermostat will no longer automatically adjust to a deeper setback temperature when the room is unoccupied. Instead, the setpoint will remain just how the guest left it.
Enable Out of Order: this setting enables the Out of Order state for any given guest room. Once enabled, very deep thermostat setbacks will take priority when the room is unoccupied, i.e. 55 / 85 degrees.
Disable Out of Order: this setting disables the Out of Order state for any given guest room. Once disabled, standard thermostat setbacks will take priority when the room is unoccupied, i.e. 68 / 74 degrees.
You have the ability to set an expiration date for these settings, or set it indefinitely by leaving it blank. For example, if I want to disable the automatic setbacks for room 101 (but only until tomorrow), I would set my expiration date for tomorrow using the provided calendar. When the setting expires, room 101 would default back to it's standard settings.
Bulk Actions also include some additional features that you may find very useful including:
Select All Items: by clicking this button, you will select every room listed on every page.
Select None: by clicking this button, you will deselect every room listed on every page.
Search: search for anything listed in your table including room number, floor number, expiration dates, etc. by simply typing your query into the text field provided.
Column Sort: select any column header to sort alphabetically or high to low and vice versa.
Go to Room Details: by clicking any room number or the current room state (yes or no buttons) in your table, you will automatically be brought to the room details page for that room.
Pro Tip: hold down shift on your keyboard and click multiple column headers to sort separate columns simultaneously.
Typical Use Cases:
- Construction: if you plan to have a renovation at your property or perform any sort of construction where you know the room(s) will be unoccupied for an extended period of time, you may want to think about enabling Out of Order for those rooms to further conserve energy.
- Low Occupancy: if you are experiencing low occupancy (maybe due to the time of year) and you block off availability in certain wings or floors for an extended period of time, you may want to think about enabling Out of Order for those rooms to further conserve energy.
- Thermostat Complaint / VIP Customer: if you are expecting a very important guest, or a guest has called and complained about their room temperature automatically adjusting, you can remotely Disable Setbacks so the guest has complete control over their in room climate for the remainder of their stay without having to engage Engineering.
